A note on retirement villages

Please note: Retirement Villages do not provide aged care.

A retirement village is regulated by the NSW Retirement Villages Act 1999 and provides residential accommodation for people who are able to care for themselves. They provide a range of services that are funded by the residents but any assistance and/or care must be arranged and paid for separately. Further, retirement village may contracts contain a clause enabling the operator of a village to compel a resident to vacate the village if a medical assessment finds them unfit.

Please refer to the page on retirement villages for more comprehensive information.
